Self Portrait

It was extra credit so hey why not... It was difficult drawing me from a mirror in a poorly lit bathroom but that's okay because I feel like it helped me produce my portraits own unique look.

12/3/12 An Update of my Life....

Blessed to live another year now I am 23 strong and will continue to do not only what I love to do but what God has called me to do...

Short Hair

I loved doing this model because i just found her hair fascinating! Like mines I LOVE LOVE LOVE short hair. I feel like short hair separates the norm of beauty in a woman in todays age.

The Human Head

Another approach I took drawing the human head, bringing out the lights of an object I found to be my strengths in drawing.

"The Human Body"

Wasn't esactly expecting this LOL!! I could not stand drawing people but I guess we live and we learn right? Well anyways this was a female model I drew from using pastel paper and Conte' Crayons. Oh and by the way I have never had beginning figure drawing class until now but this was done in intermediate figure drawing class... crazy how I am taking both at the same time but yet still proceed to prosper thank you Jesus!

"Dream"

Taking a step away from wolves the most recent oil painting of an animal that I produced was this elephant who's tusks seem so realistic as to the rest of the body and background seem unreal. I wanted it to seem as if the elephant was coming out of it dream world (the painting) and starting to emerge into the real world starting with its tusks. For people who may not see it, if you take a look at his feet and especially his trunk the detail wrinkles are missing as differed from the tusks that have a realistic look to them because of the variations of colors and tones.

"Together"

A lot of my paintings have much movement throughout them and this is a perfect example here that you can see in my brushwork. The eyes of these 2 pack mates seem as if they are looking up at the viewer which symbolize the that God made man above animal.

"The Howling"

I created this piece during an art history lecture to let the words of my teacher move through me to my paint brush.

"Dog Anatomy"

Here I am just practicing some paw structures

"Wolves"

I have really developed a fascination with wolves, Ive always love nature but I think i will be stuck on wolves for a while to see where my creativity takes me. This will be a fun experiment!!

"Consuming My Time"

Last nights few projects...

"Organic Final"

This was done with different organic items that were dipped in ink to create a drawing utensil. The things i used were (spider leg, thorns from a rose bush, yellow daisy, feather, weeds, spinach leaves, rocks, twigs, and squash seeds) crazy how these things can create different textures! NO PEN NO PENCIL!

"More Photography"

This picture I would have to say is one of my favorites because I really did capture nature with the blurred out background and a solid, clear, close up of the bird. Cuz who has skill is ME! LoL

"210"

My pride and Joy Frost was a very good client for my photography experiment! (yes those of you who follow my other blog should've guessed that she would make it on my art blog HAHAHA!)

"The Expirence"

My 1st oil painting and I had no idea what the heck I was doing... but look what door I had opened up for myself!

"Work"

"Do what you love and love what you do" -Ali

"Sketch N Acrylic"

Here is a sketch and and then the finished acrylic painting... turns out that I like that drawing better than the painting... :))

"Back 2 the Beginning"

I used to only use acrylic paints but when i actually took an oil painting class a new door opened up for me. I strongly encourage all artists to venture outside of there box...

"Final Exam"

This was my final exam of my 2011 Fall Painting I class. A red flower with a few dew drops...

"Organic Set Up"

This old tree stump will be the beginning of a thumbnail organic drawing! The teacher began to add more material to the set up so each of our thumbnails looked different...

"Black"

I love the capture of nature in its natural state! This picture I took as an experiment for photography.

"Thumbnails"

These thumbnails of 3 different bicycles is what the chameleon came from.... so from the thumbnails various different part were just randomly put together to create something that would be visually interesting...

"Jake or Lady?"

Who could resist such an innocent face! :)

"Grace"

What can be more graceful than a dancer and a butterfly side by side?

"wolf"

Im not really sure what inspired me to do this but I am very much in love with nature and i tend to paint more nature related thing than i do humans or other inanimate objects.

"Bicycle"

Who knew a chameleon was a bike? This work was completed with a ball point pen.

Today...

My 1st Love

I often mimicked a lot of what my older sister did so when I saw her color in a coloring book I wanted to do so as well. One day I saw her pick up a pencil and she began to draw different characters from a massive Disney movie collection we had. Following her I picked up a pencil and began to do the same. I kept doing it and soon drawing thing became a habit. What I didn't realize was that I had discovered a talent that I had that simply appeared to me as just killing time.

December 3rd, 1989

One of my hardest battles I had faced next to loosing my mother and father was I had no idea what my purpose in life was until now...
